A subject you have enjoyed studying this year

My favorite subject this semester is "Formation of Chilean society" because I think it has been a branch that has marked me in terms of knowledge and personal training. One of the things I like the most is that the teacher who does it is the husband of one of my favorite anthropologists and we have been able to use his books in some classes.

In the classes we see contents such as:

the identity of the mestizos, the conformation of the state and nation of Chile and also the roles that some social groups play in the conformation of the Chilean culture. These aspects seem really relevant to me when thinking about Chilean identity, since if the aforementioned factors are not addressed, a real understanding of our origin as Chilean mestizos would not be achieved.

 

I like this topic because I have always had doubts about the creation of the mestizo identity, that is why this branch helps me understand my origins.

For the same reason, I believe that this information should be handled by all the people who make up this cultural group, it is very surprising to understand how we were formed as a social identity group and what factors determined our parameters.
